Planning for Production – Idea generation and brainstorming
We were split into groups for our coursework to brainstorm possible ideas and themes of our movie opening. We started considering representation of bullying or mental health as well as the genre of horror. This is because these resonate with us and we all are very familiar with the horror genre. Our brainstorm process was pretty easy because we all agreed with everyones ideas and concepts. But it was hard to start because we didn’t have very many ideas at the start while we were trying to create a completely original idea which isn’t needed.
Planning for Production – Mood Board
include description of color choices, significant objects, locations, characters etc. and explain how it represents your groups current ideas. Clearly state who worked on/created the mood board.
Our groups visual ideas are clear we wanted our mood board to contain an atmosphere of horror while
These color choices a dark and bland show our characters personality being very alone and independent. It also adds to the codes and convention of a horror movies showing the dark and scary aspect of the movie being set around noon towards nighttime. The window is a significant objects showing how it is cracked and the memories that our main character has are distorted and going to be a reflection of how he was when he was younger which is symbolized by the window. We will be using a olden style house for filming to call back to the main part of our opening being about the flashback this also ties into our old reminiscent colors that we use in the mood board emphasizing the past.
