Planning for Production – Idea generation and brainstorming
This week we all got split up into or coursework groups where me and my group thought about different ideas for our film opening, we considered lots of different genres and themes and looked ended up deciding to make our film scene a horror about a young adult remembering their traumatic childhood involving bullying. When we were brainstorming it became very easy to decide and all agree to make the genre horror as we decided we could make the best film opening within this genre, as while our acting might remain the same during the filming period, our editing can always improve to give the opening the tension and suspense we want it to have.
Planning for Production – Moodboard

Together, me and one of my group members came together to make a mood board, helping us show how we envisioned our story to look. We mixed photos shot both during the day and in night to highlight the different times during our scene, along with using certain pictures like the children throwing rocks with the sad child looking outside to show our main theme of bullying
Other aspects of the mood board like the dark glitchy photo along with the shots in the room, were specifically picked to show our creative decision of deciding to use a flashback sequence, with the window being a significant object as it highlights the main characters rough upbringing

Planning for ProductionRoles and Responsibilities
Today in class me and my group came together to decide on certain responsibilities that people should take on. We ended up deciding that I would be the costume designer along with the being in charge of health and safety, as we thought that these two jobs can be heavily linked with each other as i can make sure that no props or costumes have any safety risks. My first job was completing a Risk Assessment Method Safety (RAMS) to make sure I was completely aware of any safety concerns that there might be while filming
Production Process – Storyboard
This is my groups production process to date. The highlights of working on this project has been slowly creating and writing down how we envision our coursework idea, with all of our different versions we had in mind slowly merging to create one solid idea we all agree on

Production Process
As we are slowly getting up to filming our short film we are focusing on completing our mood board to allow us to all be on the same page when filming about what our scenes will look like. My job will be making sure that there are little to no safety risks along with making sure that all the props are in order. As a group we decided that we will begin filming on the 20th of June during the weekend. Our biggest challenge so far has been making sure we all have the exact same idea about what our short film will look like.
Filming
Overall, our filming was very successful, with most of our scenes only needing a few retakes each. Although when editing we realised that as a result of our camera dying halfway through the shoot, our scenes no longer looked smooth with the sky going from bright and sunny to a dark sundown, and while we can fix some of this in post-production by colour grading the sky we decided to reshoot the scene to give it a much more fluid transition. Throughout our entire filming process, I learnt how difficult it is to get the exact take you want, with the smallest things interrupting your scene, an example of this was random background noise, with my dog’s collar sometimes rattling from outside my door, forcing us to retake the scene.
NEED EVIDENCE
Rough cuts review
During class this week, me and my group got to share our short film with the entire class being our audience. We showed a rough edit of our film showcasing our plot/big themes trying to get feedback on how the audience interpreted it and if it was similar to the reading we were trying to portray. Together we decided we specifically wanted feedback on if there were any standout bad parts of the edits along with how clear the story was to follow.
From the feedback we got while the audience could follow the story easily most interpreted our themes and representation wrong, with most considering bullying to be the biggest representation and not
