Preliminary Tasks

Preliminary Task 1

For my first task I used my knowledge of micro-elements to create a thirty second pitch in a group of three. In the task we brainstormed ideas for the scene as well as creating a mood- board and storyboard. We then presented the pitch which got positive feedback from. However in the future there will need to be more concentration put towards the next pitch. I want to focus on the formality of the next pitch to improve cohesion and readability

Preliminary Task 2

Pre-Production
This was my second task where I was able to put the skills I had learned into practice to create a section of a short film between 30 seconds and a minute. To make the scene possible we brainstormed ideas and the action genre to get the best outcome we could with limited resources. In the task there had to be the line “He’s gone” and a symbolic prop

Filming
For our short scene we decided to film in the school’s common room and a music practice room. We used these locations to add immersion and depth to the scene. My responsibilities during filming were to act and film some shots. I found the film process fun but challenging with my group. Some challenges we met were that the camera had been filming in slow motion and there was no audio. Based on this in my coursework I want to double check everything for errors to make sure It won’t happen again.

Post-Production
For my personal edit I decided to use shotcut as I was used to the software from past experience I am pleased with the audio editing as it lined up with how I had envisioned it. However the video editing was more challenging to flow seamlessly.
