The process of the final film editing was very difficult and resulted in two different edits. The one above is one from a girl in my group called Cody who didn’t like my edit due to the storyline not being clear enough, which I do understand, however couldn’t figure out how to make it work. Cody made it work though so I decided to use her one. But I do want to submit my edit as a have allot more to talk about with the postproduction processes.
My edit which started as this (Video details – YouTube Studio) was far too long with the clip being 3 minutes 11 seconds, this posed a big issue as I am more used to editing longer videos which are around 10 minutes. Furthermore, this clip had problems in my opinion as Cody was not very visible in the last few clips, because of this I made the group come together again to refilm Cody slipping under the garage door and killing me at the end of the clip. In the editing side of these clips, I found that the sound was far to uneven some parts were recorded very loud, and others were recorded quietly. I tried to edit the volume of the individual clips but it didn’t seem quite right.
For the final edit of my film (https://youtu.be/38JdJsnmjNY) I had my friend Jackson help me with the sound by putting compression over the dog barking and panning the audio from right to left as my car drove off. And also made everything the same volume. Overall improving the general experience of watching the film.
