CCR Questions

CCR 1 – How does your product use or challenge conventions and How does it represent social groups or issues?

For this question I have decided to create a recipe card, and treated the ingredients as conventions and representation. I used both media language and instruction/baking words to convey the format of the recipe.

I initially did a plan on a word doc, then transffered the information over to canva to create a more visually appealing poster

I enjoyed answering this question like a recipe, trying to have fun by including as much baking terminology within

CCR 2 – How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real-life text?

In response to this, I have decided to make a fake instagram account, and posts answering the question. This worked well with this question as Instagram would be featured as a distribution method of our film ‘Again’. I’ve referenced off the instagram site including the likes, comments and following symbols, replicating and making it seam realistic.

I made a word doc prior to plan and make notes of what I would like included, then made a Canva poster, as it was a easy way to format and upload images/shapes.

I really enjoyed, replicating the instagram site, and having fun with making the posts, pretending like I was really uploading on behalf of my group.

CCR 3 – How did your production skills develop through this project?

For this question I have made a set of interactive digital flashcards, with my skills before on the front and how they’ve been developed on the back. I felt that this format works well as it acts as a ‘before and after’ type feel, enhancing my transformation of skills learnt on this project. Initially, I wanted to do a memory match with images of baby animals and grown animals to show the developing/evolution of my skills with the information on the flip side. However, finding a website online seamed to be challenging especially since I wanted a interactive format.

Once again, I planned on a word document then transferred the information onto Quizlet’s flashcard maker which was easy and familiar as I had used it before.

I loved reflecting back on how far I’ve come even with just one project, and the interactive flashcard idea was unique compare to my other formats.

CCR 4 – How did you integrate technologies – Hardware, Software and online – in this project?

For my last question I have decided to do a Toy interview, between 2 Barbies named after our film’s characters Blair and Eve. It was a conversation between the 2 with Eve asking Blair (Myself) how technology was integrated. I originally, wanted to do something with my dance, however because of my tap dance genre, it was hard to hear my voiceover overtop. I felt that this interview was pretty humorous as I used a took photos on my phone and used a snapchat filter overtop.

I planned on another word document giving me clear guidance of what to include. I then took photos, and used snap filters over top, filming myself speaking, then doing a quick edit using the Capcut Software.

I loved playing around with the filters, and bringing the Barbie dolls to life, I think next time I would angle the dolls in different positions, reflective of what their saying.

So Blair, how did you integrate technologies into your project?

Well, here’s the thing. Technology was used throughout the entirety of our project, playing an essential role in every step of production. A few hardware examples are cameras, which help document our film and capture the clips. It also had a microphone attached to it, which picked up the sounds even at a quiet volume. Tripods were also used, and on film day, I was designated to filming. And at first I held it, but it was shaky, so the quality of the video wasn’t good. The tripod helped keep

stabilized and consistent through scenes, although it was fiddly at first and wasn’t straight on the correct angle. However, in the end, there was a leveling mechanism which I figured out how to use.

Phones were an easy way for communication, especially on the social media platform Instagram. Me and my group members all had it. So, we talked and discussed on it. Additionally, computers were used to help document our entire project’s process from digital note taking, to research from the internet. A portable light was also given to us. However, it was broken and missing its charger. So, next time we should test equipment out at school before using it.

What about your experiences with software?

For software,

Adobe Premiere Pro was used. Chloe was our main video editor. So, I didn’t have as much experience as her, but I knew that it helped join clips together and ensured a seamless flow for our film. Canva was also used to help record our progress and was shared amongst our groups. However, we should organize our pages a bit better so it’s less messy and clearer to follow.

Another one was Microsoft Word. For our initial script, we recorded it on Microsoft Word, but however, we later decided to improvise as it was too wordy and didn’t come to our actresses naturally. A light motion was also used. It was used to create a production logo. Again, I didn’t design the logo. However, my team members checked with me with the software and the steps to creating the logo itself.

Seems like you’ve used technology a lot, Blair. What about using technology online?

Oh, this question. YouTube was used to upload our final film again as a format for our blogs. This was because it was too long for WordPress, so we uploaded it as an unlisted to YouTube, then transferred it onto our blogs. WordPress was used to document and keep record of my progress of the project. It was digital and on my computer for easy access anywhere. Our school’s one drive was shared between us, so uploading footage for us all to access was crucial. But also sending emails between group members and the teacher meant that we could communicate outside of school

Time.

I mean, technology was used throughout our whole project from being online and using hardware and software and enabled us to collaborate and record our process leading to the driving success of our final film. Again, each piece of technology served its purpose, bringing our ideas into life.

I’m Blair.

And I’m Eve.
