Prelim Task 1-Camera Techniques Practice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With our learning of Camera techniques we went around the school to apply our new knowledge of camera angles to real life activities. With multiple angles to convey different meanings and emotions. Underneath this is the work my group attained, we were successful when setting a scene for what we imagined the image to be this is like the conventions and how the actors should act. But we found it hard to actually choose the right camera angle to convey the best version of the image allowing the audience to interpret our picture with dominant reading. I would like to improve the range of techniques I use as well as the proper settings in which I apply the camera techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We did this task to use our micro element knowledge with a real life concept. We were in groups three with the prompt “You haven’t left the house in months” to work with a create a small idea for a 30 second scene and then pitch it to the class. We brainstormed ideas in a group as well as making a mood board and story board. With this we presented our pitch to the class allowing them to see the idea we have created and formed through out Prelim task 2. With in this task I learnt how to work collaboratively and uses others peoples ideas to add on to. In the next task where we create a idea and film it i would like to focusing on using the micro techniques in a practical sense to convey a sense of meaning towards the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prelim task 3<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pre-production, In this task we were in a group of 3, we were given a prompt which was to include the dialogue he’s gone. We had to include a prop for us this was a cellphone which showed the audience how our phones can be something we are dependent on. After brain storming we create a concept of a comedy focusing on one person making fun of another by using references that is unknown to the other person on the phone. I worked on developing the characters and their character types.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Filming<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For our scenes we decided to shoot in the staff room of a local school and on the field next to the woods this is because the staff room could stimulate a normal house with a couch to allow the audience to have basic codes and conventions of where we were. On hindsight this might not be the best because of the loud noises from people around us. My responsibilities during this was acting and also allowing my friends to understand how each character should act and their body language. Filming was fun because we got to figure out how to create the different angles and add effects through our own actions and work. We did meet some challenges this included the location and also the actors including myself to be inexperienced so the scenes were harder to put together because of our little expertise, this was overcome by our use of repetition to try and make the best scene so it was easy to edit. During my course work i would want to make sure that the scene angles are kept consistent as we film and adding more camera techniques to our filming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preliminary Task 2: Editing and Final Cut<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With my personal edit of the clips we took i used premier pro because it was recommended to me by previous students so i took their word for it. I am pleased with being able to add sound effects and fade in and outs for my edit but it was challenging to match up the clips with our patchy filming as well as being able to change to audio to stop loud noises from interfering with the acting. For this task i have learnt that i need to think about editing through out the whole process of creating this film and not just the end to create the best result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
