Mini-Music Video concept creation <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mini music video concept was created by me through a mood board based on Everybody Wants to Rule the World<\/em>. I divided it into two contrasting sides: a happy<\/strong> side with bright colours and carefree imagery, and a sad<\/strong> side with darker tones and more isolated visuals. This reflects the dual meaning of the song\u2014while it sounds upbeat, it also explores deeper themes of control and pressure. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Below are pictures of our brainstorming process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For our mini music video, we created a clear and structured shot list to guide our filming and ensure our concept was visually communicated well. During our class time, we had a period to gather as a group and decide which shots we wanted to use and when they would appear in the video. Our group decided it was most effective to write and sketch our ideas on the board, while I documented everything to ensure our planning would not be lost. From this, we developed a sequence of shots, starting with an extreme long shot of the beach using a slow pan to establish the setting and mood. We then included a long shot of us running, adjusting the exposure to enhance the atmosphere, followed by a mid shot at a 75-degree angle of a person setting the ball, which we slowed down to create a more cinematic effect. A close-up tracking shot of the ball helped to convey emotion and maintain focus, and we ended with an extreme close-up of the sunset to create a reflective and visually appealing conclusion. Overall, this planning process allowed us to stay organised and ensured our final video effectively communicated our intended mood and concept.<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mini Music Video Filming<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My role during filming was being the Cameraman for my group<\/strong>. My key responsibilities included ensuring everyone followed the planned actions and capturing all the shots we had originally storyboarded. This required me to think about framing, angles, and making sure each scene matched the vision we discussed during pre-production.<\/sup><\/sub><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

One of the main successes of our production was the positive atmosphere during filming. Everyone in the group was enjoying themselves, which made it much easier to capture the \u201chappy\u201d section of our music video naturally and authentically. Additionally, because everyone in our group already knew each other well, communication was very smooth. This helped us collaborate more effectively, share ideas openly, and adapt quickly when making creative decisions during filming. Our planning and creativity were supported by our initial storyboard and group discussions, which gave us a clear structure to follow while still allowing some flexibility for spontaneous ideas.<\/sup><\/sub><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, we also faced some challenges during the process. None of us approached the preliminary task with a strong sense of urgency, which meant that certain parts of filming and preparation took longer than they should have. This affected our overall efficiency and could have been improved with better time management and clearer deadlines within the group.<\/sup><\/sub><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From this experience, one important lesson I will take forward is the importance of managing time effectively and maintaining deadlines, even for smaller or preliminary tasks. In future productions, I will ensure the group stays on schedule and treats every stage of the project seriously so we can work more efficiently and produce even stronger outcomes. <\/sup><\/sub><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
